Who are we?

Scientific Coral Corp (SCI) ®. is a leading producer of captive-bred corals in the United States. Our objective is to produce the highest quality aquacultured (farm-raised) corals and sell them DIRECTLY to the SALT WATER HOBBYIST. We also sell to pet stores, educational institutions, public aquaria and theme parks such as Walt Disney World in Orlando.

We have one of the largest genetic banks of marine corals that I know of. Our large inventory of farm grown corals includes many different types of Gorgonians, Soft Corals, and Hard Corals. We sometimes offer a limited supply of Captive Bred clams from the Indo-Pacific region.

Our corals are available DIRECT TO THE HOBBYIST from our farm to you via FedEx Overnight Delivery anywhere in the U.S. We can usually ship your order within a few days of your order. Sorry we don't ship outside the U.S. at this time.

Scientific Coral Corp. is a privately help corporation.The name Scientific Coral Corp. is a U.S. Registered Trademark. Noel Curry is the founder and Chief Scientist of Scientific Coral Corp (SCI) . The company was started in December 1990 by Noel as a feasibility study for researching and developing techniques to commercially grow corals in completely artificial, closed systems. SCI began selling corals to dealers in January 1995, and direct to the public in 1996. After a 3-year break to redesign the business, SCI began selling direct to the public again in 2004.

The facilities are located in Lawrenceville, Georgia, north of Atlanta. Because of proprietary information and for security reasons, we are closed to the public, and are mail order only. Under certain conditions, ($250 minimum, scheduling), local pickups of corals may be arranged if you are in Atlanta or visiting the area.

BACKGROUND OF Noel Curry

Noel T. Curry is the Chief Scientist of Scientific Coral Corp. (SCI) in Lawrenceville, Georgia, located between Athens and Atlanta. He has over 21 years experience in the care and maintenance of marine ecosystems. For the past fourteen years, Noel has been the President and Director of Research and Development for Scientific Corals Corp. Using proprietary culturing techniques and system designs, he has successfully propagated numerous species of hard and soft corals for the aquarium market. He designed and constructed the commercial mariculture systems which SCI uses today.

Noel has an undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia (Biology/Environmental Science) and a Master's Degree from Texas A&M University (Environmental Engineering IHE). He has published many professional articles and often travels around the country giving presentations on coral farming. He particularly enjoys visiting schools to give presentations to children. He lives in north Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

THE COMPANY

SCI was one of the first fully operational commercial (for profit) mariculture companies in the USA. Through its mail-order outlet, it supplies captive bred marinelife to zoos, marine wholesalers, distributors and especially direct to the marine aquarium hobbyists. Customers are able to choose from the largest selection of tank-raised corals in the United States and possibly the world. Although the current facility is closed to the public, SCI hopes that they will be able to open a large retail outlet in the next few years.
