for Beginning Reefkeepers.
February
19, 2008. We just put up a new FREE information website on Corals.
Its called Corals101.com . Its specifically designed for
beginners and written in simple language. Noel Curry, our
Director of Propagation, has spent a lot of time writing down
what he has learned in the past 17 years about keeping corals. Its
covers
it all, from Acclimation to Zooxanthellae.
Check it out here!
Let us know what you think.

We
have the largest selection of Aquacultured Corals available
in the US. We
sell ONLY Live, Captive-Bred Corals, Direct to the Public and
Wholesale . We do not sell
wildcaught corals, (except for gorgonians). All of our corals
are grown right here in the US at our coral farm or by affiliated
coral propagaters in the Indo-Pacific. We offer very colorful,
tank-safe, and often rare, corals that grow quickly and acclimate
well to your tank conditions, rather than large expensive wildcaught
colonies that may not acclimate well to your tank. We believe
this is the best way to build a lasting beautiful reef in your
home or office without depleting the wild ocean reefs.

Word
of Mouth is the best advertising! Read what some of our customers
have said about us: "My
son and I have been doing business with Scientific Coral since
1998. In all these years we have never been dissatisfied with
the way we have been dealt with. Our orders have always arrived
when they were supposed to and the corals always exceeded our
expectations. We recommend this business to anyone who is in
the market to buy corals. It is a pleasure ordering corals from
them. " " A very satisified customer. ">>>

US
Fish & Wildlife Service reports the Mortality Rates of Wildcaught
corals: "Despite improved aquarium technology
and handling practices, an estimated 90 percent of some
of the most popular coral species collected from reefs die before
or soon after they reach the aquarium owner. Consumers who buy
corals, live rock, and marine fish are encouraged to ask stores
for information about where these products came from and how
they were collected. Hobbyists can avoid buying fish or coral
that die quickly by finding out more about the difficulty of
keeping particular species. They can also consider buying synthetic
corals or captive-reared specimens from facilities using environmentally
sustainable aquaculture techniques." From http://news.fws.gov/coral.html

We
are a True Coral Farm, not a Frag Factory!
(Whats the difference?)
And like all farms, we plant and grow
"crops" of corals and periodically release them for
sale to you. Because of
this, our availability will vary over time. Its our goal to
eventually have all of items available all of the time. But
we only release our corals for sale when we have reached a "critical
mass" that we think can keep up with demand for that coral.
So our available inventory changes constantly as items sell
out and new ones become available. But even "saleouts"
will eventually be available again, but sometimes not for a
year or two.
