Valonia, just one of many pests that can come with wildcaught corals Farm raised (captive-bred) corals. An idea whose time has finally come. Why should you buy captive-bred instead of wild-caught corals? Frankly, wildcaught corals scare me to death. Many are infested with valonia (pictured), flatworms, parasitic crabs, nudibranchs, RTN, etc. Most of our systems are permanently closed to incoming wild caught organisms. Not really our coral farm, just representative

We are a true Coral Farm, not a Frag Factory! (Whats the difference?) And like all farms, we plant and grow "crops" of corals and periodically release them for sale to you. Rare Fluorescent Green Leather Coral

Recently Charlie Veron, who wrote the "Bible" on coral reefs (Corals of Australia and the Indo Pacific) said that the coral reefs have 20 years left, no matter what we do ! Yikes !

UN Report - From Ocean to Aquarium. Coral informationA recent study by the United Nations says that up to 12 million wild stony corals are harvested each year. The aquarium trade has been criticized for the use of unsustainable collection techniques and poor husbandry practices. Unlike freshwater aquarium species, where 90 per cent of fish species are currently farmed, 99% marine aquariums are stocked from wild caught species, which can cause irreversible damage to coral reefs if not done properly.
